UPDATE: Supposedly credits earned during the campaign were also cut 75 percent as well, a deceptive move by EA that will surely be met with another onslaught of upset fans.  This is followed up with more bad news with the fact that the game’s Arcade mode limits how many credits you can earn within a 24 hour period.

A written response from DICE Executive Producer John Wasilczyk brings good news for fans of Star Wars Battlefront II that have been loudly voicing their concerns with the extreme requirements to unlock and play as popular heroes like Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker.

“So, we’re reducing the amount of credits needed to unlock the top heroes by 75%. Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader will now be available for 15,000 credits; Emperor Palpatine, Chewbacca, and Leia Organa for 10,000 credits; and Iden at 5,000 credits. Based on what we’ve seen in the trial, this amount will make earning these heroes an achievement, but one that will be accessible for all players.”
